Two sentence terrible tale!

Posted by mrstyler on Oct-28-2014

Halloween is nearly here!

I challenge you to write a two sentence terrible tale!

It is just as it sounds. Two sentences, the first setting the scene and the second delivering the twist. You need to lead the reader astray and then pounce an unexpected ending. Use lots of  detail for the best effect. Don’t forget all the punctuation!
Here is one I adapted from another that I’ve read:

On hearing her mum call to her from downstairs, Tess slipped out of her cosy bed and obediently headed, bearfooted, out of her room. As soon as she approached the staircase, she was grabbed painfully tightly by whitened fingers on her elbow and pulled sideways into the hall cupboard as her white-eyed mum whispered frantically,
“Yes, I heard it too.”

Have fun!

Happy Holidays!

Posted by Mr Rockey on Oct-22-2014

Have a happy holiday everyone and enjoy the time at home with your families. If you get time, I would love to read all about what you are doing in your own time, so please leave some posts and comments on your blog. Also, if you read some good books over half term, leave a book review on your blog too. I shall be putting a prompt over on the Writer’s blog if you fancy a challenge. Have fun!

Simonsbath – The final burst!

Posted by Mr Rockey on Oct-17-2014

After a really special week in which all of our children laughed, had fun, tried everything and were SO incredibly well behaved, here is the last photo slide show and round up of the week, including last night’s Drumming workshop.

I would like to give HUGE thanks to Mrs Hannam, Mrs Tyler and Mrs Robertson for their superb organisation, sympathetic care, boundless energy, time and effort that they have given all week to make our Simonsbath trip such a success. We are very lucky to have such tremendous teaching and support staff who give so much for our school. Lastly, a thank you to the children who made us all proud with their impeccable manners, wonderful listening skills and sensible attitude. I truly believe this was a week for everyone to remember…
